Garnet and Maw Sit Sit Hand Earrings
This set is made with maw sit sit, little orange garnet in the palms of the hands, and are strung from niobium ear wires. Niobium is nickel and lead free and a safer alternative to base metals for those who have sensitivity to metals.
These little copper hands do not have a patina on them which is uncommon in my work. Most metals will develop a natural patina when exposed to the elements over time so expect them to age and change with you as you wear them. With polishing the copper can remain vibrant.
These earrings are a labor of love and an homage to the hand talismans I’ve been sculpting and creating for over a decade. Each hand is loving hand sculpted before being embellished with a stone and coated in pure copper. They’re surprisingly light for their size as each piece is coated in copper instead of being solid metal. They’re sturdy but should be treated as a precious object for them to have a long life.
