Opal Mushroom Dish
This small dish is wheel thrown, trimmed, and then hand sculpted mushrooms are added. I then hand paint the glaze and do a final firing. These are food safe, many use them as trinket dishes or ashtrays.
I call this glaze Opal as it reminds me of the most striking yellow Ethiopian opals. This glaze has shimmery qualities and ranges from whiteish to yellow.
These ceramics should not be microwaved as they contain natural minerals in the glazes. Ceramics will live a much longer life if hand washed due to the temperature changes and harshness of a dishwasher.
