Scorpio Mushroom Dish
This small dish is wheel thrown, trimmed, and then hand sculpted mushrooms are added. I then hand paint the glaze and do a final firing. These are technically food safe, many use them as trinket dishes or ashtrays.
I call this glaze coloring Scorpio. It is mostly black but has shimmery qualities and bits of red in it, which reminds me of the mysteries and layers of a often misunderstood sun sign.
These ceramics should not be microwaved as they contain natural minerals in the glazes. Ceramics will live a much longer life if hand washed due to the temperature changes and harshness of a dishwasher.
